Hello, I think that out of the two websites, Snopes.com is better because you can search things your interested in. Also, there are many categories to choose from. I thought the one about the kid drowning to find Spongebob was awesome; it was false.I also read about the movie Poltergeist and how the cast were dying. I personally think that snopes.com is a better site because it provides a basic background of the myths and why they think it's false and true rather than just saying it's false or truth. Snopes is very colorful in appearance and nice to look at and there is a list of things you can click on when you get on the page. There is also a search engine where you can type in a couple of words and get a list of options to pick from.

i liked snopes.com better than scambusters.com because on snopes i got to ask questions. i prefer to get straigh to what i need and on scambusters i would have to search through alot of unneccessary things. snopes.com takes me to all sorts of uran myths and things that i've never even heard of and it tells whether its true or not and then tells where they got the information from. i like that. it seems like a very reliable source

She became the youngest girl to ever have a baby.Also i found out that standing in front of the microwave while you are pregnant is false. Hi Ms. Vega Snopes is the bomb.Love the site and it is very intresting.Some of the urban legends tends to be actually quite funny lol.I would recommend this site to people who are intrested in random facts like these. ScamBusters however, im not so much a fan of that thing. I thought it was actually too plain of a site to be intrested in. The web design of the page was boring. Compared to Snopes, Snopes is pooing on ScamBusters.
Snopes is a ver helpful website. It helps you find the truth about certain things, or the false story that people might have made up. You can look up almost anything if you don't know that much about it. It's more comfortable to use than asking a person and have them looking at you like your crazy. So, to me, it was a very sourceful site.

I thought that both snopes and scambuster both provided quality information.
Scopes was very intuative and provided a lot of information concerning urban legends and myths. It seemed to me that the website was more thought out and more organized. Plus they didnt have that annoying ass pop up that played every 5 seconds.

I really liked snopes.com because of all the interesting legends and facts! I think it's a good site to read about urban legends and whatnot. I got to find out about some ridiculous stories and that true. There was one story about a Peruvian 5 year old girl that was pregnant. I thought that was like.. a medical miracle. But anyways.. I also thought scambusters.org was a good site. It had interesting content. I came to find out that the stories that I thought were true were actually false! Like KFC using fake chicken. That was false. Although the site was not that organized and jumbled up, it's a very helpful and reliable.

Many of the things i thought were true were actually false and make belief. It provided facts and stories to prove that the rumor was true or false. The website is also organized in a way where it's quite easy to search about the information you're trying to look for. There is the search bar where you can simply type in keywords about your topic and categories where you can just click on and narrow down your search.
The website, scambusters.com was also a good source to use to search. It had interesting urban legends and tips on how to avoid being scammed online. Although it is a good website, i personally like snopes better. It provides more information and is well organized.

Snopes has links like 'Automobiles' or 'Disney' and if you click on a link there are supposed 'rumors' that can catch the reader's attention. Each has a story about something and it is very interesting. From the stories I read most of the are true.
I really liked scambusters.Scambusters has great examples of many scams and tells you how you can prevent being scammed and stolen from. The site shows many scams people are dragged into and how the scammers drag you into the 'good deaL.' I would refer anybody to go to this site before making their next big purchase.

Scambusters on the other hand I thought was a little less organized. It kinda seemed to me that itself was a scam site. Although it did provide quite enough information to satisfy someone wanting to know about scams.
I like stopes.com because,it tells you if rumors are true are not.When I heard and saw the little five year old being pregnant,it was really disturbing.They said that her father might have done it.
ReplyDeleteSnopes is a very interesting. I learned things that i never knew about, it tells you things that really intrest you. You type any question and it will give you an answer. It tells you if it real or not.
ReplyDeleteScambuster is not very interesting to me its very boring. scambusters is not as interesting as snopes. Scambusters dont give as much information. Snopes is more organized that scambusters.

ReplyDeleteThe two websites are fantastico, I like Snopes.com better then Scambusters.com.I'd pefer snopes because it explains why the rumors in the world is false or true. However, scambusters is wack wack.
I think that Snopes is a very important program. The thing about the 5 year old girl was very shocking but interesting. It also stops confusion and misunderstood history about others than our own. I would use this website to find out a lot of information now especially since it double checks even the outcome. I would also refer this website to a friend.

Scambuster.com was a very nice website as well.Scambuster really enlighted me on things I was not aware of.My favorite is the one about KFC,truth is they don't use real chicken.In this day and age hardly any companies use "The Real Deal".This was a nice assignment,thanks Ms.Vegas.
I lyk snopes better because yyu can look up nething & find out if it iz true.lyk dha worlds tallest woman n dha world iz 7'4 & weighs 320 pounds now dhatz big & tall...

ReplyDeleteSopes was a neat site to find very interesting facts on things. The story that caught my eye was the fiive year old girl theat sarted her menstral cycle at three years old and became pregnant at five years old in 1939. I didn't find any other interesting info on this site yet.

I cant find accurate info on scam busters, but what I was trying find out was we know that you are tired if you don't get enough sleep. But why is it that you are tired if you get too much sleep? Is there a such thing as too much sleep?
Scopes has many facts and information about almost everything. Also, the search engine was so convenient and easy to use, which makes the whole website amAzing.

The youngest mother on record was a five-year-old Peruvian girl.She was raped at the age of 5 she had her first child whom was a boy by the name of Gerardo. She had her next sone in 1972. Her first died in 1979.

I found snopes to be funny. Snopes would be helpful because it will tell what is real and fake. I learned somethng new today.

Oooops... I forgot about Scambusters because it wasn't more interesting than Snopes. Maybe because I was expecting something that was more interesting than snopes. I would still use this website to discover new information and learn about things I didn't know about. Also I would still refer this website to a friend!!!!!!

ReplyDeleteI did not like scambuster.com at all. it was not fun, interesting or cool. I dont think i will use this website unless you ask me to. I dont think it was that pursuading enough to me but i guess it has a good thing to it like the urban ledgens cuz i like to read diffrent things.

Snopes. Com Is A Really Good Website. I Have Learned Alot Of Things From This Website That I Didnt Learn In A Day.. An Interesting Story That I Read On Snopes Is A Woman Who Got Her Ribs Taken Out, Because She Wanted A Smaller Weist line.. But She Looked Really Odd To ME.. I Didnt Know That Someone Can Get That Presedure Done With Out having Some Kind Consequences. Not Only Is This Website Funny, And Interesting It Is True, And gives You Facts That You Can Depend On There Arent Alot Of Websites Like That.

snopes is better because you can see a lot of thing that you never heard of before.I found that a man brought a rook for 10 dollars, and then got it appraisn and it was worth 2.28 million dollars.

I really liked snopes.com because of all the interesting legends and facts! I think it's a good site to read about urban legends and whatnot. I got to find out about some ridiculous stories and that true. There was one story about a Peruvian 5 year old girl that was pregnant. I thought that was like.. a medical miracle. But anyways..
ReplyDeleteI also thought scambusters.org was a good site. It had interesting content. I came to find out that the stories that I thought were true were actually false! Like KFC using fake chicken. That was false. Although the site was not that organized and jumbled up, it's a very helpful and reliable.

I liked snopes.com because it provided a lot of information about rumors and legends that have been thrown around in the world. Many of the things i thought were true were actually false and make belief. It provided facts and stories to prove that the rumor was true or false. The website is also organized in a way where it's quite easy to search about the information you're trying to look for. There is the search bar where you can simply type in keywords about your topic and categories where you can just click on and narrow down your search.
ReplyDeleteThe website, scambusters.com was also a good source to use to search. It had interesting urban legends and tips on how to avoid being scammed online. Although it is a good website, i personally like snopes better. It provides more information and is well organized.

Hey Ms.Vega I really liked the websites you referred us to for the assignment you gave on Friday. snopes.com is really a site I would refer to anybody. Snopes has links like 'Automobiles' or 'Disney' and if you click on a link there are supposed 'rumors' that can catch the reader's attention. Each has a story about something and it is very interesting. From the stories I read most of the are true.
ReplyDeleteI really liked scambusters.Scambusters has great examples of many scams and tells you how you can prevent being scammed and stolen from. The site shows many scams people are dragged into and how the scammers drag you into the 'good deaL.' I would refer anybody to go to this site before making their next big purchase.

Hey Ms. Vega, the websites you gave us were really interesting. I think that the Snopes website was more interesting because it gives you more information on why some of the rumors were false or why they were true. The site also included a lot of crazy stories that interested me. It can be a website that I will visit when I need a laugh because it's funny and interesting reading some of the things people believe in or some of the things people do.

snopes.com is a easy to use and convienent website. this is because all the rumors and myths are put into diffrent catagories. it also tells you if its true or not. you can also click on the like and it tells you the story. and you can search the website for a certain myth.
