ReplyDelete2.The western nations want to get in on the info about iran testing sites.Refering back to korea with the neuclear testing sites, this is a dangerous thing and poses a threat to the entire world. The united states especialy wants to find out about what goes on at this facilty.there is no telling what kind of thoughts are going through those peoples minds.
3.Western countries nicely ask iraan to give in to inspections of facilties.Neuclear testing facilties seem to not hold up the international policy that britain has set forth. This will not sit well with the united states either.

President Obama quoted "Iran has a right to peaceful nuclear power that meets the energy needs of its people. But the size and configuration of this facility is inconsistent with a peaceful programme" (qtd. in "West Demands").
ReplyDeleteHaving discovered that Iran had a secret nuclear facility, Western nations want to make sure that its nuclear sites are to be inspected. The discovery was officially declared when Iran told the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) of the nuclear site. Many of the Western countries believe that Iran is trying to develop nuclear weapons. In addition, they encourage Iran to give as much information as possible about the nuclear facilities and insist that Iran should discontinue its nuclear enrichment activities ("West Demands").
Western nations have warned Iran that if it does not have a specific, acceptable purpose for its secret nuclear facility by December, then it will receive sanctions. President Obama and others believe that Iran having the secret nuclear site conflicts with the international nuclear non-proliferation rules. The Western nations promote the idea that Iran's nuclear facilities should be inspected. In addition, they agree on carrying out new sanctions against Iran if necessary, only to ensure peace between nations ("West Demands").

ReplyDeleteThis article was about the recent discovery of secret uranium plants. These findings have many nations upset and demanding that the faculties be inspected, because they believe that they are constructing nuclear weapons.International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA)has asked Iran for information concerning these plants.
The west is demanding to inspect the newly discovered uranium plants by December, they are under this pressure because people think they are tring to make nuclear weapons. They alos feel that if they inspect the plants this will hepl they to nations.

ReplyDeleteIran's secret underground uranium enrichment plant was discovered. The CIA and National Security Agency have been tracking its construction for years, but Obama decided that now is the time they should put pressure on Tehran by exposing its existence. Iran revealed to the IAEA ,in a cryptic letter, that it had a new pilot fuel-enrichment plant under contruction and further information will be provided in due time. Western countries believe Iran is trying to higher the enrichment of uranium to create a nuclear weapon, but Tehran told the IEAE nuclear material was not being produced in the facility. Yet, Tehran announced that it will not cease higher enrichment.
The West warned Iran that if there is not a change in its nuclear stance it will face sanctions. Full inspections of their nuclear facilities were demanded. It was insisted that Britain join the U.S. and France on their mission. If their is not a change in Iran's leadership sanctions will be enforced for the welfare of peace and stability.

ReplyDeleteThe Western Nations have found out that Iran has been building a secret nuclear facility. After Iran had learnt of the Western nations have found out about the facility, they declared the site formally to the IAEA. The Iran ’s say that they are not making weapons using the uranium because the enrichment is only 5 per cent. However, the United Nations Security Council members and Germany are still pushing Iran to cut back on the enrichment of the uranium.
The Western Nations found out about the secret underground uranium enrichment plant in Iran . President Obama said," All nations have the right to peaceful nuclear energy," adding that those with nuclear weapons “must move towards disarmament."
ReplyDeleteIran's secret underground uranium enrichment plant was uncovered. Iran informed the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) on Monday that the secret site is inside a mountain near the holy Shia city of Qum. The CIA and National Security Agency have been tracking its construction for several years, and President Obama has decided that its time to put maximum pressure on Tehran by revealing its existence. Uranium enriched to 5 per cent can be used as nuclear fuel, but if its enriched to 90 per cent it can be effective in a nuclear weapon. Iran has enough low-enriched uranium but they haven't developed the higher grade for a weapon. The five permanent United Nations Security Council members and Germany will be pressing Iran to scale back on its enrichment activities, but Tehran has declared that it will not bargain on enrichment.
The West told Iran that it will face new penalties if they do not make the people believe that they have changed its nuclear stance. President Obama wants Iran to agree to full international inspections of its nuclear facilities. Mr Gordon Brown accused Iran of “serial deception” and insists that Britain is “at one” with the US and France in its willingness to implement new and tougher sanctions.

The quote I found most significant is "All nation's have a right to peaceful nuclear energy" (President Obama).
ReplyDeleteThe West found out about Iran's underground uranium enrichment plant. They insisted that it be inspected. It was done after Iran told the International Atomic Energy Agency(IAEA) about their secret underground nuclear site. The CIA and National Security Agency have been tracking its construction, but Obama thinks it's time to really let everyone know about their secret. Obama spoke about nuclear disarmament in his speech in Prague. Uranium enriched 5 per cent can be used as nuclear fuel, but has to be 90 per cent to be effective in a nuclear weapon. Western countries believed that Iran has been attempting to achieve higher enrichement in of uranium. Tehran has declared that it will not bargain on enrichment.
The West uncovered Iran's secret nuclear site. It was a uranium enrichment plant. President Obama and others agreed to an international inspection. Iran was accused of serial deception. Obama stated that "Iran has a right to peaceful nuclear power that meets the energy needs of its people, but the size and configuration of this faciity is consistent with a peaceful programme".
“All nations have a right to peaceful nuclear energy.” - President Obama.(qtd. in "West Demands").
ReplyDeleteSummary : After the discovery of the face that Iran had a nuclear facility, the States demanded that they accept the inspection of it. Even if Obama thinks that they have the right to peaceful nuclear power but it did not qualify for the nuclear program. They are trying to make an agreement but I do not think that will work too well. The United Nations Security Council members and Germany will be trying to force the Iran people to pull back with the activites with the enrichment activities. ("West Demands").
Paraphrasing: The West have warned Iran about the existence of the secret underground facility. If they don't agree to have it inspected by December, it'll receive sanctions. This is a challenge to international nuclear non profilferation rules. In order to ensure peace and stability between nations, they agree on carrying out new sanctions against Iran if it is needed. 1. I like the quote from President Obama "All nations have the right to peaceful nuclear energy."
ReplyDelete2. after the west discover the hidden uranium enruchment plants in Iran, the states demanded a immediate inspection of the plant. Iran's enrichment plants were far to big to be for peaceful nuclear energy. "All nations have a right to peaceful nuclear energy," as said from President Obama.
ReplyDeleteThe Western Nations discovered an underground nuclear facility in Iran that was suppose to be covered. Iran then informed the IAEA that they've been building the secret site inside a mountain near the holy Shia city of Qum. The CIA have been tracking their construction for several years, President Obama then decided to reveal its existence. Western countries think that Iran is trying to use uranium for nuclear weapons, being 90% effective if used. The five permanent United Nations Security Council members and Germany will be pressing Iran to stop their nuclear enrichment activies.
Western Nations warned Iran about having a secret underground facility. Iran will receive consequences if they do not allow the West to inspect their facility. The Western Nations also pointed out that Iran having a secret facility goes against the international nuclear non-proliferation rules. The West agrees with Mr. Sarkozy saying if there is not a change in Iranian leadership, then sanctions must be imposed for the sake of peace and stability.

My favorite quote was when Pres. Obama said "Iran has a right to peaceful nuclear power that meets the energy needs of its people. But the size and configuration of this facility is inconsistent with a peaceful programme."
ReplyDeleteAfter the discovery of the Iran's secret underground nuclear site, the site was ordered to be searched. It was shocking because many didnt believe they had nuclear power. They were always accused of having nuclear weapons and to find an underground place with a lot of nuclear power was a shock. Some think its just energy the contry needs to survive, but it too much. The good thing is the uranium is not strong enough for a weapon.
Iran was warned by the West because of the discovery of the secret underground nuclear plant. The place was immediately called for inspection by Pres. Obama and others. Iran was accused of "serial deception" by Gordon Brown. He also thinks Britain was in with the U.S. and France for the new and tougher anctions. (West Demands)

1) Mr. Sarkozy said: “If, between now and December, there is not a profound political change on the part of the Iranian leadership, sanctions must be imposed for the sake of peace and stability."
ReplyDelete2) Basically the article is about the discovery of an secret underground uranium plant found in Iran. Also the article talks about the President's involvement of the investigation of the facilities. The article then goes on about the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) being informed of the substance and the clarity of it. The CIA is also is on the brink of the investigation.
3)Obama feels that any and all nations should have a right to enjoy the positives of nuclear power. It causes a problem when the energy used is towards nuclear weaponery. Iran wrote a letter to the IAEA telling them of the "pilot plant" that was under construction. They go on to claim they used 5 per cent which can fuel nuclear energy. Which isn't harmful seeing that it takes 90 per cent to be used in nuclear weapons.

According to President Obama, “All nations have a right to peaceful nuclear energy" (West Demands).
ReplyDeleteWestern nations want to make sure that Iran's secret nuclear facility is inspected. The discovery was official when Iran informed the IAEA of the nuclear site. Many believe that the facility exists because they are suspicious that Iran is trying to develop nuclear weapons. They demand that Iran agrees to a full inspection of the facility or face sanctions. This matter will be further discussed with the scheduled talks between Iran and six world powers on October 1 (West Demands).
Unless Iran can prove to the world that the secret nuclear facilities that they have are for legit purposes, they will face sanctions. President Obama, Gordon Brown, and President Sarkozy demanded that Iran must act immediately and have the site fully inspected. Brown accused Iran of being deceptive. They are encouraging tougher sanctions. Inspections are demanded because they want to keep peace and stability between nations (West Demands).

ReplyDelete2. Iran's secret Uranium plant is discovered, and the U.S. wants to inspect it to see if anything fishy is going on. The plant is located in the city of Qum. The U.S. thinks that they are making nuclear weapons so they want to make sure that they are not. International Atomic Energy Angency (IAEA) is to inspect the plant and pass to stay. Obama thinks that the country should have a right to have a good source of energy.
3. Iran has a secret nuclear plant that has just been uncovered. Iran has to agree for a full inspection or else they will be shut down. Mr. Brown accused Iran of "serial deception." Finally, Mr Sarkozy said, "If, between now and December, there is not a profound political change on the part of the Iranian leadership, sanctions must be imposed for the sake of peace and stability."

A quote that I find significant is when Mr.Brown accused Iran of "serial deception".The article is about the west demanding access Iran's secret underground nuclear site. Iran also already have a nuclear site and they are buliding another one inside a mountain near the holy Shia city of Qum. The CIA and national security agency have been tracking the construction of the site and President Obama thinks that Tehran needs to tell them where the nuclear site is located. Iran said that the facility is located in southern Iran at Natanz. United nations security council members and Germany are trying to make Iran lower on its enrichment activities but Tehran said that they will not bargain on enrichment.
ReplyDeleteThe west warned Iran that they will face a penalty by december only if they can persuade the world insights on its nuclear stance.President Obama,Gordon Brown and president Sarkozy want Iran to respond quickly by agreeing to international inspections of its nuclear facilities. Gordon Brown accused Iran of "serial deception". President Sarkozy think that if there is not a profound change sanctions must be imposed for the sake of peace and stablitity. ReplyDeleteThe Quote that stood out to me was when Mr Sarkozy said: "If, between now and December, there is not a profound political change on the part of the Iranian leadership, sanctions must be imposed for the sake of peace and stability."
ReplyDeleteAfter the West discovered the hidden secret underground uranium enrichment plant. Gordon Brown and President Sarkozy of France called the hidden facility a direct challenge international nuclear non-proliferation rules and demanded Iran to agree to a full inspection of the nuclear plant. Iran then informed the IAEA about the hidden facility inside a mountain near the holy Shia city of Qum. The letter to IAEA stated that enrichment level would be up to 5 per cent. "The United States, Britain and other Western countries believe that Iran has been attempting, at its plant at Natanz, to achieve a higher enrichment of uranium, although the plant has been subject to IAEA inspections."
After the Western warned Iran if they cannot convince the world that the existence of their nuclear plant is for the good of the world before December then it will get sanctions. Many people including President Obama, Gordon Brown and President Sarkozy believe that the Iran’s hidden plant result in a challenge to international nuclear nonproliferation rules. They also believed Britain should join them in their task to implement new and tougher sanctions.

The quote I found to be the most significant is when Obama stated, "All nations have the right to peaceful nuclear power that meets the energy of its people."
ReplyDeleteThe discovery of the secret nuclear facility in Iran has been officially announced when they sent the message to the IAEA. This discovery has made the United States, Britain, and other Western countries believe that they are in the process of creating a new nuclear weapon. The Western nations demand for an inspection of the facility to clarify the situation. They also want Iran to stop their enrichment activities. ("West Demands")
Since Iran already has a nuclear facility, the existence of this new secret facility makes others question its purpose. Western nations have given Iran a warning that if they do not provide a reasonable purpose for the facility, it will undergo sanctions. Some also believe that having this nuclear site goes against the international nuclear non-proliferation rules. Western nations strongly urge for the facility to be inspected because they feel that Iran is creating a new nuclear weapon. All of these actions the Western nations want is so that we can avoid any chance of war. ("West Demands").

ReplyDelete2. A secret underground enrichment plant was discovered in Iran. The West demanded access to the secret plant because Iran 'heard' of the move the West was going to make. Due to this, the IAEA has requested Iran to provide information on the facility. Also backing up the U.S. behind the situation include Great Britain and France. Iran did not have to be sneaky.

ReplyDeleteAfter the discovery of the Iran's hidden "uranium enrichment plant", Western Nations wanted to make sure that these nuclear sites are inspected. After Iran told the IAEA of their nuclear plants, the discovery was officially repoted. Having heard this news, many countries in the west believe that Iran are trying to develop nuclear weapons. In response, these contries have suggested to Iran to abandon their nuclear enrichment productions and also give important information about their nuclear plants.("West Demands")
The West countries advise Iran to adjust where they stand in nuclear afairs or face inspections. Some people, including President Obama, feel that Iran's covert operation is a stand against "international nuclear non-proliferation rules" and they should respond by agreeing to inspections of all of their nuclear facilities. Gordon Brown pointed a finger at Iran for serial deception and said that Britain is on the U.S. and France's side. As for that Iran the agency provide specfic details and access to there facility as soon as possible which allowed the agency to access safeguard requirement for the facility.
The west was just try to make sure that Iran would act immediately by agreeing for fulll inspections of there facility and that they would change and have better nuclear facility. ReplyDeleteSummary: The article is stating that Iran has a secret underground nuclear facility. They are not tryimg to share any information with any other nations about this site, but the west demands to know whats going on inside. They're demanding that Iran give international inspections of their nuclear facilities. Nations are becoming concerned because they are assuming that Iran is trying to build nuclear weapons. The Western nations have agreed to form sanctions,if neccessary,if Iran doesn't agree to inspections.
Paraphase: Western Nations have discovered that Iran is building a nuclear facility underground.Since Iran has confirmed the building of this site to the Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) The President of the United States and others are starting to believe that Iran is beginning to build nuclear weapons.Iran is instisting that it is a new pilot fuel-enrichment plant involving uranium. They say the enrichment level is up to 5% and it takes at least or around 90% to contruct nuclear weapons. The West is demanding that they share as much information about this as possible. By December the west is prepared to carry out sanctions against Iran if they don't give a logically acceptable reason for as to what and why this nuclear facility is so secret.

Significant Quote: "Iran has a right to peaceful nuclear power that meets the energy needs of its people. But the size and configuration of this facility is inconsistent with a peaceful program." Obama states this.
Summary: Overall, Iran is having nuclear activity, and other countries are concerned. Barack Obama has revealed the location of Iran's secret nuclear site to pressurize them. President Sarkozy proposes that sanctions must be imposed in order to maintain peace. Iran knew of the West's move, so they declared the site to IAEA. President Obama says that all nations have a right to a peaceful nuclear energy, as long as it is used for the right reasons. So basically, Iran is doing nuclear activity, and is getting concerns, so they are forced to reveal what they're doing.
Paraphrase: Iran will face fresh sanctions by December if it can convince the world that their nuclear activity is a change towards the right direction. President Obama accused it of being a violation of the international nuclear non-proliferation rules, and that it must be willing to be fully inspected. Gordon Brown accused Iran that Britain would insist on a tougher sanction. President Sarkozy stated Iran must change with it's nuclear activity so that it may maintain peace.
President Obama states, "All nations have a right to peaceful nuclear energy." ("West Demands")

The quote that I found most significant was "All nations have the right to peaceful nuclear power that meets the energy of its people."
ReplyDeleteIt was discovered that Iran has a secret underground nuclear site, and the West wants the site to be inspected. Iran informed the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA)about the building of the secret site. Iran informed the (IAEA) by writing a brief letter telling that their plant was under construction. The West wants to demand access to this nuclear site because they believe that Iran is developing nuclear weapons. They think that Iran should stop their nuclear activities, and they demand that they give as much information on this facility as possible.("West Demands")
Iran was warned by the West that their underground nuclear site will face sanctions because it has no specific purpose. At the G20 summit in Pittsburgh, President Obama and others call this facility a direct challenge to international nuclear nonproliferation rules. They demand that Iran agree to full international inspections of the facility. If there is not a change on the part of Iranian leadership, it will be necessary for the sanctions to be followed through. ("Western Demands")

I think it was a significant quote when Obama said, “Iran has a right to peaceful nuclear power that meets the energy needs of its people."
ReplyDeleteSummary:The U.S.A.,Britain, and France are uniting forces against Iran and demanding changes.Iran is building its 2nd nuclear facility near Shia City of Qum. Iran must make some changes by December or sanctions must take place in order to keep our nations safe. The fact that a second plant is under construction slows the chances of any progress between Iran and the 6 world powers. The council members of the United Nations and Germany will be pressuring Iran into backing up but Iran is not willing to bargain.
Paraphrase:the West demanded Iran to make changes by december or the will face sanctions. President Obama called the facility a threat to other nations and demand an inspection of the nuclear facility. President Sarkozy wants changes by December or actions will be taken for the sake of our nations.

QUOTE: I like when the IAEA spokesman said: “Iran assured the agency in the letter that further complementary information will be provided in an appropriate and due time. In response, the IAEA has requested Iran to provide specific information and access to the facility as soon as possible. This will allow the agency to assess safeguards verification requirements for the facility.”
ReplyDeleteSUMMARY: I think the article is mainly about U.S. tring to find Iran's secret facilities. International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) is getting information about the Iran's secret site and letting us know where its located. They just found out that Iran is making a pilot-fuel enrichment in the country.
PARAPRASE: Iran was warned that they will face sanctions if they can't persuade the world of a change in their nuclear stance. President Obama felt that he was deceived foing the G20 summit in Pittsburgh, because he felt by hiding the factors it created a challenge to the international nuclear non-proliferation rules. Iran was accused of serial deception, implement of new and tougher sanctions were agreed on by Britain, US and France.Sanctions will be imposed by December for the sake of peace and stability if the leadership don't profound political change.

“All nations have a right to peaceful nuclear energy,” said President Obama. I think that this is the most significant quote in the article.
ReplyDeleteIran's secret underground uranium was discovered. The United States, Britain, and other Western countries think that Iran was creating a nuclear weapon. They want to see a change in Iran's nuclear stance and also its nuclear facilities to be inspected. Iran will face sanctions if it don't do this. The IAEA told Iran that it need to provide specific, reasonable information and access to the facility soon.
A secret underground uranium made by Iran has been exposed. Iran has received a warning from the West that if there is no change in its nuclear stance by December, it will face sanctions. President Obama recommended that Iran agree to let its nuclear facilities inspected immediately. These actions requested from the United States, France, and the Western countries is to help bring peace and stability to the world.
1. Quote: "All nations have a right to peaceful nuclear energy, adding that those with nuclear weapons "must move towards disarmament" stated by President Obama
ReplyDelete2. Summarize:The article is about uranium found in Iran. It states how Iran will be faced with sanctions. Also there was a discovery of an underground uranium enrichment plants. President Obama says that Iran has to cooperate in the inspection of its nuclear facilities. Also it says that Iran has low-quality uranium which is not high enough in quality to create nuclear weapons
Paraphrase:In December, Iran will be faced with sanctions unless they can prove and show the world improvements. President Obama says that Iran must agree to full international inspection of their plants. And if there is no improvements in Iran then they must proceed with the sanctions.

In fact they have more than one plant. Iranians is building one in the mountains as well. A long with telling the IAEA about their nuclear plant they also them about their pilot plant. Iran insured the IAEA that they would give all the information they need to at another time. But IAEA asked specific information and access to their facility.

The western nations is also asking to inspect the plants. But Iran doesn’t want to undergo these inspection. If Iran choose not go thru some action will take pass.

SIGNIFIGANT QUOTE
ReplyDelete"Iran informed the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) on Monday that it has been building the secret site – its second nuclear facility – inside a mountain near the holy Shia city of Qum."
If the CIA had been watching the nuclear facility in the holy Shia city of Qum for the past several years, one can only imagine the nuclear facilities that have not been discovered.
SUMMERIZED
The world is looking for "profound change" in Iran because of its poor kept secret that only the CIA of the U.S.A. knew about until it's revelation to its neighboring countries.
And since Iran can't be trusted, everybody wants in, to babysit all nuclear powers located in any of Iran or Iran's brother/sister countries. "Tehran has declared that it will not bargain on enrichment but the five permanent United Nations Security Council members and Germany will be pressing Iran to scale back on its enrichment activities." So who is turn is it in this unforgiving match of chess?
PHARAPHRASED
"The West warned Iran today that it will face fresh sanctions by December unless it can persuade the world of a “profound change” in its nuclear stance after the existence of its secret underground uranium enrichment plant was uncovered.
Mr. Obama, determined to pre-empt the accusations of double standards to which Tehran often resorts, said: “Iran has a right to peaceful nuclear power that meets the energy needs of its people. But the size and configuration of this facility is inconsistent with a peaceful program.”
Iran informed(IAEA) that it has been building the secret site – its second nuclear facility – inside a mountain near the holy Shia city of Qum.
Although the CIA and National Security Agency have been tracking its construction for several years, Mr. Obama decided it was time to put maximum pressure on Tehran by revealing its existence
The revelation of the second plant further complicates the chances of any meaningful progress... between Iran and six world powers...The five permanent United Nations Security Council members and Germany will be pressing Iran to scale back on its enrichment activities. But Tehran has declared that it will not bargain on enrichment."

paraphase:
1)“All nations have a right to peaceful nuclear energy,” I think this means that everyone has the right to live with no negative energy. People have the right to live peaceful lives. They should stop and ask the people in their countries how do they feel about war. I bet you about 75 to 85 percent of the people will say "we have no reason to have a war most wars kill Innocent by standers so no more wars "
ReplyDelete2) In the west warned Iran President Obama, flanked by Gordon Brown and President Sarkozy of France at the G20 summit in Pittsburgh. Which is called the hidden facility a direct challenge to international nuclear non-proliferation rules and demanded that Iran act immediately by agreeing to full international inspections of its nuclear facilities.
I love the quote where president Obama says, "All nations have a right to peaceful nuclear energy."
ReplyDeleteThis article is about the United states coming together with other world powers and disciplining Iran. President Obama believes that the Iranians are up to no good and he is taking the necessary precautions. He has reason to believe that the Iraninas area making nuclear weapons in its "secret" underground uranium enrichment plant. Iran is being accused of "serial deception" and newer and tougher sanctions are being imposed for the sake of peace and stablity. The CIA and IAEA are alsn involved in this matter
Paragraphs 1-4 are basically letting the people know whats going on. Most of it is President Sarkozy of France stating his agreement with US, Great Britain, and Germany. Mr.sarkozy is giving the people of Iran until December to change its leadership.
A quote that i find significant is when President Obama said "Iran has a right to peaceful nuclear power that meets the energy needs of its people. But the size and configuration of this facility is inconsistent with a peaceful programme.”
ReplyDeleteThe west warned Iran that they will face sanctions by December if they do not change their ways of dealing with their nuclear issues. President Obama and others say that Iran's hidden nuclear plant violates the rules. Presdient Obama also said Iran had a right to produce nuclear energy for peaceful reasons. He also said they have to stop making nuclear energy if its not for energy purpose. Iran said that they will provide information.
The west will put sanctions on Iran in december if it does not change its nuclear program. President Obama says it violates non prolification rules. Mr.Brown says britian is willing to get tough with sanctions, and Mr.sarkozy says sancitions will be imposed if there is no change.
